  1. I am not too familiar with SRAM, so the Campy guys can debate with you on which groupos is more bling ;-)

I don't get compact 50/34 cranks though and I guess this is why there are 11-26 and 11-28 cassettes. Can someone explain on why these gear ratios?

  2. I have SRAM red on my Cervelo and it's not really anymore bling compare to Campy. The shape of the hood might not compliment your hands. You just need to try it out. But for your Bianchi get Campy.

On the compact crank, it has a smaller inner ring of 34 compare to 39 teeth standard to help with climbing. Cyclist that are not as strong usually like compact crank for that reasons. But don't let that fools you. Scott M. was riding on compact or still is and he likes it. Though the 50 teeth outer ring is smaller than the 53 standard, you will hardly ever top out unless you are going full gas downhill like newport coast. 50/11 ratio is faster than a 53/12. I think the best set-up is a compact crank with a 11/23 rear cassette. You get the best of both for climbing and flat land speed. I have been looking at a set-up like that but haven't got a chance to get a compact.
If you like climbing alot and you are not a pro/cat 1 racer, than a compact will be very good. Some racer do use compact or even run a triple crank set-up on mountainous stage.
